I use my Xbox 360 a lot for music and videos(Netflix, Hulu, Zune, ESSPN etc.) and I find using the gaming controller to be clunky at times. This remote makes it much easier to control. The only thing i wish is that the signal was a little bit stronger so I could use it from farther. All in all i'm very happy with this remote.

I say 'must have' because it really is for anyone who uses their xbox for anything other than playing games. Since we use ours primarily for watching Netflix, this little gadget comes in handy just about every day. It is much easier to use for navigating the menu than the controller.

This remote does everything you need for the XBox 360 - it controls media playback, it lets you navigate the dashboard with the click 'wheel' and it does a really good job of it. The problem is this remote needs absolute direct line of sight of the xbox console, if it does not then it doesn't work at all. Also if you are at 20+ ft distance this remove also has problems working. But if you are sitting right in front of the console within 10 feet of it the remote works perfect. Also you can easily program this remote to control your television - now you will only be able to turn on/off the tv, turn the volume up/down/mute and also use the input button; you cannot control the channels with this remote. I believe the number pad on this remote will allow you to control the xbox live tv feature that is coming within the next few days/weeks - it does not control the channels on your actual tv. The remote also would benefit from having backlit buttons, its difficult to see this remote in the dark as the buttons do not light up, nor do they glow in the dark - something previous xbox remotes would do; this is step backward.
